What Our Clients Say About Us

When Tim left his old practice, Goldberg & McEnaney, following him to his new practice was a no-brainer for me.  He had worked my case aggressively for the two years before he left his old firm and then, within a month of opening his new firm, the pension board approved for my 3/4 disability pension!  I couldn’t be happier with my decision.  Tim is the only one I ever spoke with at his old firm, returned all my calls immediately, return texts at night, on weekends, and even while he was on vacation.  There’s no 3/4 disability pension lawyer who can touch him.  I’ve already recommended him to four of my coworkers, all of whom are very close friends, and all of whom I know will be very happy with Tim representing them.

Hello Tim and Julie, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all the help in assisting me in my entire retirement process. It was a pleasure working with your firm. Julie was always there to handle any questions/concerns I had during the entire process and to prompt Tim of any pertinent information that needed to be addressed in a timely matter. Tim prepared me for any questions and concerns I had and provided the confidence needed to see the process through.

Like a lot of people, I was pretty nervous walking into a law office, expecting the worst. But stepping into [Tim McEnaney’s prior law firm] felt like coming home to friends. Tim McEnaney sat me down for what turned into a 5-hour session (not kidding). He went through every detail of my medical records, highlighting what was good and what needed work and showed me that I also had a world trade center case that I never even considered before sitting down with him. Tim's mind is razor-sharp, and his sense of humor made the time fly by. He explained everything in plain english, no fancy legal talk. They won my case, and I felt like I had an army supporting me. His creativity in handling my situation was key. The walls of their office are plastered with articles of past successes, all about 3/4 disability pensions. Everyone here seems to love what they do; it's not just a job for them.

- Carl B. (Firefighter, FDNY, Retired)

I was told my 3/4 case wasn't winnable by others, but Tim at [Tim McEnaney’s prior law firm] saw something different. Their approach was innovative, and they won my case. The staff, including paralegal Linda, was always courteous and easy to reach. Their brutal honesty about the problems with my case and my actual chances was refreshing.

- Andrew K. (Sgt. NYPD, Retired)

Having hired a lawyer once for a personal injury case, I was worried about being just another file again, but the generosity of time from everyone at [Tim McEnaney’s prior law firm] made me feel like my case was a priority. Tim's consultation was a marathon, 3 hours, but he explained everything until it clicked, no rushing of any kind. They won my case, and I never once felt like my case wasn't the most important to them. Doug, a retired NYPD legal assistant, was also very professional, and happily explained how they hired him after winning him his own 3/4 disability pension. The atmosphere here is one where everyone really seems to love what they do.

- Adam R. (Sgt. NYPD, Retired)

The decision to consult a private attorney about my disability case was made easy by the utter disinterest and obvious apathy displayed by the "advocate" employed by the PBA. Having ended off my phone call to the union filled with fear, doubt, and hopelessness, I began researching disability attorneys. Apprehensive about scamming and disingenuous attorneys from years of them battling me at traffic court, I was pleased and soothed to find a warm, caring attitude from Tim's office staff. After a bit of leg work to send over my records for the consultation, I was elated to meet an energetic and passionate man who was honest and generous with his time. Tim explained every detail of my case and the disability process in clear language that was easy to understand. He spent hours with me until I was comfortable with where I stood and how his representation could benefit my case. I retained Tim's service without hesitation. Having worked closely with him and his staff for the duration of my case I wholeheartedly know they changed my life. I cannot express enough gratitude for the hard work and dedication they all provided to me. The security of being well informed and the comfort of having a fierce advocate like Tim is truly priceless when you are in the midst of so much uncertainty. You don't have to face this challenging time alone. Help is only a phone call away.

Hi, my name is Renee T. I was an NYPD officer who patrolled the streets. I have been trying to get a three-quarter 9/11 pension since 2001, after I was exposed to the toxic fumes at Ground Zero without a mask. I was forced to retire in 2004 with a disability pension, and my body became even sicker. The NYPD told me that I did not have proof that I was sick because of 9/11. In February 2002, when we were allowed to have regular days off again, I went to the doctor. I had infections everywhere, including inside my mouth.

Since my retirement, I have sought legal counsel to fight for me to change my pension from disability to a three-quarter line-of-duty pension, without any success. In the meantime, my life consisted of going to doctors and taking numerous medications while still getting sicker. I signed up for the World Trade Center Health Program, received treatment, and was certified for numerous diseases that I did not have before 9/11. I also made a habit of securing all of my medical records.

One day, my husband came across the name of a lawyer who specialized in 9/11 cases, Mr. Timothy McEnaney. Mr. McEnaney spoke to me honestly and agreed to take my case. He told me that I would be awarded a three-quarter pension based on my lungs alone. Mr. McEnaney made sure I had my notice of participation at Ground Zero, my memo books showing the locations where I worked, and all of my medical records. Mr. McEnaney handled all the paperwork along with his staff. They all knew my name, my case, my doctors, the medications I took, and all of my illnesses whenever I spoke to any of them. There was a strong line of communication.

Mr. McEnaney and his team secured two hearings for me with the medical board: the first for PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and the second for my lungs. Before I went before the board doctors who work for the NYPD, Mr. McEnaney prepared me for each medical board meeting. He knew how the board worked, what they would say to me, and how they would try to trip me up. Everything he said came true, and I was well prepared. He spoke with me for hours and went slowly because I have trouble understanding what people say to me, as well as short-term memory loss. Yes, I was nervous; however, I was also confident. One doctor and I even went back and forth over a false statement the doctor made.

Mr. McEnaney did exactly what he said he would do. I was awarded a three-quarter line-of-duty pension for my lungs, with a line-of-duty finding for my PTSD. Stop looking for other lawyers; Mr. McEnaney and his team are the best. They are not afraid to go up against the NYPD and win. The NYPD finally admitted that I became ill after working at Ground Zero and awarded me a 3/4 line-of-duty accidental disability pension 25 years after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and 22 years after I was forced to retire in 2004 with what felt like a slap in the face.

“Thank you” is not enough for Mr. McEnaney and his team. Do not wait another day—call Mr. McEnaney today and get your three-quarter line-of-duty disability pension.

I worked for the city of New York for over twenty-two years. A year and a half, for the NYPD and twenty-one years for the FDNY. Through a friend/colleague who had Tim successfully represent him, I was given Tim McEnaney's number. From my first call when I spoke to his staff (they are all excellent), I knew I was in good hands. After he reviewed all my medical records, which went back many years, we had an initial meeting. He was very knowledgeable, direct, patient, and most importantly, he was honest. He explained everything to me in a clear and concise manner and patiently answered any and all of my questions. Throughout the entire process, Tim and his staff were there every step of the way, communicating and providing guidance whenever needed. I would highly recommend The Law Office of Timothy McEnaney to anyone who needs representation regarding pension related matters or anything else.

When the time came for me to be forced to retire from the job I loved due to injury and sickness, the City didn't agree to my disability. Acting on advice from a co-worker, I contacted the Law Office of Tim McEnany, Esquire. It proved to be the best move I could have made. From the initial consultation, to the final decision, Tim and his office was upfront, knowledgeable,  affirming, truthful and professional. I was treated with empathy and understanding for the situation. As a former City employee, Tim is second to none in knowing Law on disability compensation cases, and the results proved that. I would not hesitate to refer Tim and his Office to anyone that is trying to pursue litigation of their case.
